To start your purchase, you can search for products in popular Japanese marketplaces and official brand websites. Some of the most used platforms include Mercari, PayPay Flea Market, Rakuten, and sites like UNIQLO, Onitsuka Tiger, BEAMS, and other official Japanese brand stores.

Marketplace vs. Official Stores

Marketplaces like Mercari or PayPay Flea Market are excellent places to find collectibles, figures, plush toys, video games, and rare secondhand items. However, they are not ideal for all types of products. For items like clothing, shoes, cosmetics, and accessories, we strongly recommend using official brand websites due to the high risk of counterfeit goods on flea market platforms.

Important Marketplace Tips

• No Auction Support: We do not offer bidding services. Please avoid listings that require bidding or are in auction format.
• Seller Reputation: Always check the seller’s reputation and number of completed sales to ensure a safe transaction.
• Mercari Shops Warning: Be cautious with "Mercari Shops" listings, as these are often newer and less regulated than regular sellers.
• Piracy Warning: Some products, like LABUBU figures, have a high rate of counterfeits in Mercari. We advise against purchasing such items from marketplaces.

Two Ways to Send Your Request

At TOKIO MANIA, you can submit your purchase request in two simple ways. Choose the one that best fits your situation:

1. Send a Direct Product Link

If you already have a link from a Japanese marketplace or an official brand store, simply send it to us through the request form.

Important: In this case, we will purchase exactly what is shown in the link. It is your full responsibility to verify the accuracy and availability of the product before submitting.

• We do not handle pre-order items. The product must already be released and available.
• Make sure the product is not part of a bid or auction — we do not offer bidding services.
• On Mercari, avoid Mercari Shops and make sure the seller has good reviews.
• Products such as LABUBU are often counterfeited on flea markets — we recommend avoiding these.
• Do not buy clothing or shoes from flea markets like Mercari or Rakuten — due to high piracy risk, always prefer official brand websites.
• The product might no longer be available at the time of your request, especially in second-hand marketplaces.

2. Send Product Details

If you don’t have a link, just provide us with the product name, brand, and a clear image of the packaging. We’ll take care of the search and find the best price for you across different marketplaces.

Once we receive your request, our team gets to work verifying your item and preparing a detailed quotation. It may take 24 to 48 hours. Please note we operate Monday through Friday only. The process varies slightly depending on the type of request you send us:

If You Sent a Link from an Official Brand Store

• We verify that the product is currently available and not sold out or on pre-order. We do not handle unreleased items.
• We check if the store offers free domestic shipping within Japan. Many shops do, but only after reaching a minimum purchase amount.
• If this minimum is not met, the domestic shipping fee will be added to your final quote.

If You Sent a Link from a Marketplace

• We make sure the listing is not an auction or bid format — we don’t support bidding services.
• We check that the product is still available and not from Mercari Shops (in the case of Mercari).
• No further review of item condition is conducted at this stage.

If You Provided Product Details (Name, Brand, Photo)

• We search across Japanese marketplaces to find the best available deal for you.
• We prioritize listings from sellers with strong reputations and high ratings.
• You will receive a quote based on the best match available.

Please Note About Marketplace Items

While we do our best to find trustworthy sellers, buying from second-hand marketplaces always carries some risk. We will share with you the seller’s original description and photos. You must review them carefully before accepting.

When we search for a product on a Marketplace (with your name, brand, and photo), our service includes inspecting the item upon arrival at our warehouse and verifying that it matches the original listing (product type only; we do not verify the item's condition, status, or functionality).

How to Accept or Reject the Quote

Once we finish our review, you will receive an email with your quote. You must reply directly to that email with a clear response:

• To accept: Simply reply with the phrase "I ACCEPT THE QUOTE".
• To decline: You may choose not to reply, or let us know you’re not interested.

Once you accept the quote, we will send you a secure payment link to complete your purchase.

Once you confirm the quote by replying with “I ACCEPT THE QUOTE” to our email, we will send you a secure payment link. This link allows you to complete the payment using your preferred method. We use trusted payment gateways to ensure the safety of your transaction.

What Happens After Payment

After your payment is successfully processed, your order is officially confirmed and we immediately begin the purchasing process.

Important Notes

• The payment link is valid for a limited time. Please complete your payment as soon as possible to avoid delays.
• If you repeatedly accept quotes but fail to complete the purchase within the 24-hour window, we reserve the right to deny future service requests. Please only confirm quotes when you’re ready to proceed with payment.
• If the item is no longer available by the time we attempt to purchase it, your order will be canceled and the payment refunded — unless you wish us to quote the item again, which may come at a different price and/or condition.
• We do not proceed with the purchase until payment is confirmed.

Once you accept the quote and complete the payment, our team at TOKIO MANIA will proceed to purchase your item in Japan, either from an official brand store or a marketplace, depending on your request.

Estimated Delivery Time to Our Office

After the purchase is made, it may take up to 7 business days for the product to arrive at our Tokyo office. This timeframe can vary depending on the specific store or marketplace from which it was ordered.

Product Verification Upon Arrival

• If we sourced the product through a marketplace, our team will open the package to verify that the item matches the listing you approved.
• Important: We do not check the condition, functionality, or physical state of the item — only that it is the correct item as listed by the seller.

Combining Multiple Items in One Shipment

• If your order includes multiple products, we will wait until all items have arrived before preparing them for international shipping.
• We only combine items purchased in the same request or order. We do not store products to later combine them with future requests.

Planning to Combine Orders?

If you wish to receive several items together in one shipment, please make sure to include all desired products in a single request. Separate requests will be handled and shipped independently.

Once all your purchased items arrive at our Tokyo facility (which usually takes at least 7 business days after purchase), our team will consolidate your products into one package — if applicable — and prepare it for international shipping. We offer free repackaging service for orders that include more than one item in the same request.

Your shipping quote is based on three key factors:

• Physical or volumetric weight of the final package
• Your country of destination
• The shipping service selected (Small Packet or EMS)

Product Inspection

If the item was purchased using a product link you provided, we will not open or inspect the item. It will simply be repackaged with others (if applicable) and prepared for shipping.

If the item was found and purchased by us based on your product details (name, brand, photo), we will open the package to confirm the product matches the original marketplace listing. Please note: we do not verify condition, functionality, or overall state of the product.

Shipping Payment & Storage Policy

Once the final package is ready, you will receive an email with your shipping quote, detailed shipping information, and a secure link to complete your shipping payment.

The shipping fee must be paid within 3 days of receiving the quote. Please note that we cannot store packages for extended periods. If the payment is not completed within this timeframe, a storage fee of ¥500 yen per day will be added to your total. This fee must be paid in full before we can ship your package.
